Trump Got Boycotted By Governors, Smacked Down In Court, Busted For $4 Billion Grift, and Hit With War Powers Revolt In Congress

The regime can’t spin these stories away (no matter how hard they try)

GOVERNORS HIT REGIME OVER TARIFFS

When the Supreme Court struck down Trump’s unconstitutional tariffs on Friday, the message was abundantly clear: The president does not have the authority to unilaterally impose tariffs using emergency powers.

But that didn’t stop Trump from invoking a rarely-used trade law to impose a new global tariff of 10% on Friday night, which he then raised to 15% on Saturday morning—with no coherent explanation for any of it.

In response, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said: “He’s flailing. He’s a punch-drunk boxer. He’s just trying to hit anything, a shadow … He’s lost a step or two.”

While Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker took it a step further, sending Trump an invoice—an actual bill—for $8.6 billion. “Your tariff taxes wreaked havoc on farmers, enraged our allies, and sent grocery prices through the roof,” Pritzker wrote. “On behalf of the people of Illinois, I demand a refund.”

THE WHITE HOUSE DINNER

Trump turned one of DC’s oldest bipartisan traditions into another loyalty test—and it backfired spectacularly.

Every February, the White House hosts all governors for a black-tie dinner. This year, Trump said he was disinviting Maryland Gov. Wes Moore—America’s only Black governor—and Colorado Gov. Jared Polis—America’s first openly gay governor.

The response was immediate and unified. All eighteen Democratic governors threatened to skip the dinner if Moore and Polis weren’t invited. Oklahoma’s GOP Gov. Kevin Stitt, who chairs the National Governors Association, announced they couldn’t take part in an event that excluded Democrats. Which of course prompted a tantrum from the wannabe king.

For Saturday’s dinner, not a single Democrat was in the room. Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey said: “Trump has made this whole thing a farce.”

Trump wanted a loyalty test. Instead, he got a boycott, a bipartisan slam, and empty chairs he had to fill with his sycophants.

STRIPPING TRUMP’S WAR POWERS

With Trump mobilizing warships and fighter jets inching toward Iran, Dem Rep. Ro Khanna and GOP Rep. Thomas Massie joined forces again to introduce a War Powers Resolution. It would force a full House vote on whether to block Trump from launching military action against Iran without authorization from Congress.

It’s a discharge petition, which means if they get enough signatures, they will force a vote. And the math here is a lot closer than Mike Johnson would ever admit. Recently, similar vote was forced on Venezuela—it failed by one.

The Founders gave Congress the power to declare war. Khanna and Massie are just making Trump follow the law.

$4 BILLION. IN PLAIN SIGHT

The New Yorker just published an updated report on what is likely the largest corruption scheme in American presidential history. According to their investigation, Trump’s family has made an estimated $4 billion—with a b—during his second term in office.

The numbers are beyond shocking. Crypto deals, a $500 million investment from the UAE, Saudi real estate deals, and so much more.

This should never happen, and it warrants Trump’s immediate impeachment and removal from office. Then we can work our way down the line to JD Vance and so on.

TRUMP PROVES RICE RIGHT

Former National Security Advisor Susan Rice, who is now a board member at Netflix, went on Preet Bharara’s podcast and said that all of the corporations who bend a knee to Trump would come to regret it.

Rice said: “If these corporations think that Democrats, when they come back in power, are going to … play by the old rules … they’ve got another thing coming.”

Trump proved Rice’s point before the weekend was even over—threatening to kill Netflix’s $83 billion merger deal with Warner Bros. unless they fire her.

Trump only has this kind of power because the GOP-controlled Congress won’t do anything to stop him. That’s why we need to win back the House and Senate—exactly what our Midterm Accountability Project is working toward.
