Schumer and the
Hateful Eight Betray America
A new low for the Democratic Senate

As always, Democratic elected officials crave political
death.
They are the all-time champions of snatching defeat out of
the slavering jaws of victory at the last possible second, the most deeply
committed gamblers when they’ve been told the cards are marked, the deck is
stacked, the house is crooked, and the dealer is in on the con.
Last night, eight “moderate” Democrats got played.
Conned. Rooked. Pantsed. Pumped and dumped. Rode hard and
put away wet.
It was a colossal leadership failure, and Chuck Schumer
should resign as Minority Leader immediately if he had a shred of honor or
shame.
And by the way, Schumer may be voting “no,” but this
travesty happened because he wanted it to happen.
If Schumer were Mitch McConnell, he’d tell these Senators
that supporting Trump (because that’s what this is) will lead to their
immediate removal from committees, elimination of their staff down to minimal
levels, taking away their “hideaway” offices, and a portfolio of other large
and small cruelties. Cocaine Mitch, say what you will, was stronger as a Minority Leader
with his caucus than Chuck Schumer was as Majority Leader.
Senate
Minority Leader Schumer declares, “Peace in our time.”
A shutdown that was bleeding the MAGA GOP dry will end
because the Hateful Eight were suckers who make Neville Chamberlain look like
Genghis Khan. Patsys. Petains. Fools. Mooks.
The Republicans cannot believe their luck.
They get to end the shutdown, blame it on Democrats, and go
back to the MAGA base and say, “We killed Obamacare at last!”
How many damn times does it take for people to learn to
learn that the more transparently the GOP is acting in bad faith (shutdown
brinkmanship, hostage-taking, “we’ll just renege later”), the more likely
Democrats are to concede “to show we’re the adults in the room.”
If you want to know why this is a con job by John Thune and
Donald Trump, observe one key aspect of the MAGA message
machine in the last 24 hours: its silence. The same Mighty Wurlitzer of
right-wing agitprop that roars like a rabid dragon 24/7 at every Democrat,
spewing fire and bile, was…awfully quiet. Last night, big MAGA social media accounts
were praising the Hateful Eight for “putting country over party.”
Yes, I gagged, too.
They were, as they always are, utterly
coordinated, from the White House and Fox on down. And they let this deal play
out quietly. Softly, so Thune and Trump could lure these birds into the trap.
This is the Hate Machine in action.
“But wait,” cry the eight arms of the idiot spider. “We get
a single show vote at John Thune’s convenience to show we love health
care subsidies and they don’t.”
Oh, for all this sacrifice, you got a vote.
You handed Donald Trump and the GOP a 2026 lifeline for a
single show vote, one you know the House will kill and Trump will veto.
Oh, bra-vo.
Oh, wait? Your moronic, window-licking, focus-group
addicted consultants told you this will be a great talking point? That
they’ll write a policy paper on why you’re so smart? That you’ll
get to use it in ads?
Well, slap my ass, can call me Sally! That’s great
for you. Good on you for ignoring the winning message
from last week and moving on to a surefire loser that no one will understand or
remember next November.
I’ve seen some profoundly stupid things in my long run on
this political racetrack, but that is the windswept pinnacle of Mount Dumbass.
Wilson’s Third Law took a while, but here it is: when
presented with the option of holding a popular position and making the
Republicans pay for opposing it, Democrats will pre-compromise against
themselves (oh, and at significant harm to the American people) in hopes of
bipartisan vibes at a velocity approaching light speed.
Democrats will get no credit for this.
None. Zero. Zip.
The shutdown was Donald Trump’s stinkbomb, with Mike
Johnson and John Thune holding the same reeking tarball. Now? The Democrats get
to wear it, too. They went from principled fighters to collaborators.
Trump and MAGA take the win.
Even if Democrats are posturing to themselves in a little group chat, doubtless
called something like “The Grownups,” it is an absolute certainty that Trump
and the Republicans will go on TV and say, “We forced them to reopen the
government on our terms.” Because Dems blinked first, the
narrative becomes: “GOP chaos works. Trump wins. MAGA is unstoppable.”
Base demoralization.
Democratic voters had a great night last
Tuesday.
Obviously, Chuck Schumer’s eight proxies decided to ignore
the winning message and decided to rescue a Republican-made crisis and
get…nothing.
No policy win, no accountability, no political scalp. That
breeds “why do we even vote for these people?” energy…which is poison in
a cycle where turnout is king.
It was the equivalent of telling everyone who has worked,
marched, organized, voted, and donated in the last year, “Nah, never mind.
Turns out we mean, ‘Yes, King Donald.’”
Media “both sides” laundering.
By helping end the shutdown, Democrats give the Beltway
press a way to say, “See? Washington can work!” That muddies the key message
that Republicans caused this disaster and should be punished
for it. Every poll blamed the GOP. Every. Damn. Poll.
Now? “Democrats end their shutdown. Republicans relieved over bipartisan
compromise.
Trump will still screw Americans.
If you think Russ Vought is going to hire back Federal
workers or pay those who went without salaries during the shutdown, I have many
bridges to sell you.
You believe Brooke Rollins is going to flip the switch to
“on” for SNAP benefits ASAP? You think all the damage done by Trump’s shutdown
will be addressed, unwound, and repaired? If you do, then you’re greater fools
than even the most jaded conmen could imagine.
The MAGA Civil War gets delayed.
This shutdown was exposing the internal GOP clown show.
But if Democrats save them, it lets the vulnerable Rs and
the leadership live another day. “See? We got it done.” Democrats accidentally
stabilize the very people who created the crisis.
Hostage-taking is now validated.
Once Democrats show they’ll pay the ransom to spare the
country pain, Republicans learn the obvious lesson: do it again.
A CALL TO ACTION
This isn’t over. Call them. Make it clear where you stand,
especially if you live in their states. Light them up:
