A few days ago, one of the world’s most important tech CEOs shared a fact that should serve as a wake-up call to any business leader who still doubts that Artificial Intelligence will fundamentally reshape how we do business, how companies are structured, and ultimately how we live our lives.
In a conversation with META CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the company’s inaugural LlamaCon AI developer event in Menlo Park, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella revealed that nearly 30% of Microsoft’s code is now written by AI—and that percentage is steadily rising.
Nadella asked Zuckerberg how much of Meta’s code is AI-generated, Zuckerberg replied that Meta is building an AI model capable of developing future iterations of its own Llama AI family. By next year, he anticipates that half of Meta’s AI development will be handled by AI itself, not humans.
Considering that AI is still in its relative infancy, it’s not hard to imagine a near future where 80–90% of software code is generated by AI.
The question is no longer if AI will change everything—but hOw.
