FLASHPOINT ACADEMY - NEW STUDIO B AT CBS HEADQUARTERS

FLASHPOINT ACADEMY ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT IT WILL BEGIN IMMEDIATELY USING THE BRAND-NEW, HIGH DEFINITION CBS PRODUCTION STUDIO B (LOCATED DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET (AND ACROSS DALEY PLAZA) FROM FLASHPOINT’S DOWNTOWN CAMPUS) FOR ITS PRODUCTION IN ACTION FILMS, AND FOR BROADCAST AND LIVE PERFORMANCE CONCERTS AND OTHER PROGRAMS. THIS WILL BE IN ADDITION TO THE CURRENT FLASHPOINT STAGE ON THE 19TH AND 20TH FLOORS OF THE MERCHANDISE MART AND REPRESENTS A UNIQUE AND EXCLUSIVE ARRANGEMENT BETWEEN FLASHPOINT AND ONE OF THE PREMIERE BROADCAST ORGANIZATIONS AND MEDIA FACILITIES IN THE COUNTRY .

THIS LARGE ADDITION TO FLASHPOINT’S OVERALL FOOTPRINT IN THE HEART OF THE CITY AND THE CENTER OF CHICAGO’S NEW MEDIA ARTS DISTRICT IS DUE IN PART TO THE RAPIDLY INCREASING GROWTH OF FLASHPOINT’S STUDENT POPULATION, GREATER DEMAND FOR THE SERVICES OF FLASHPOINT’S STUDENTS THROUGH FLASHPOINT STUDIOS, AND THE DESIRE TO PROVIDE FLASHPOINT’S STUDENTS AND GRADUATES WITH INCREASED DIRECT ACCESS TO AND OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE REAL-WORLD ACTIVITIES TAKING PLACE EVERY DAY AT CBS’S EXCITING NEW CENTER.

THE HUGE NEW DOWNTOWN STAGE IS CONSIDERABLY LARGER THAN THE MART STAGE WHICH FLASHPOINT RECENTLY REBUILT AND EXPANDED AND IT WILL PERMIT LARGER-SCALE FLASHPOINT FILM PRODUCTIONS AS WELL AS THE USE OF MULTIPLE SETS AND SEVERAL STUDENT TEAMS ALL SIMULTANEOUSLY IN THE NEW SPACE WHICH ALSO INCLUDES A SEPARATE HIGH-END, FULLY-EQUIPPED AUDIO CONTROL ROOM AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL SPACE FOR GUESTS, MAKE-UP, AND STORAGE AND DIRECT ACCESS FOR REMOTE TRUCKS AND BROADCAST VANS.

IN ADDITION, BECAUSE OF THE PROXIMITY OF THE NEW CBS STAGE TO FLASHPOINT’S DOWNTOWN CAMPUS (APPROXIMATELY 400 FEET AWAY), WE WILL BE ABLE TO QUICKLY CONNECT THE TWO FACILITIES USING IN GROUND FIBER OPTIC CABLES SO THAT PRODUCTIONS AND OTHER MEDIA GENERATED AT THE NEW STUDIO WILL BE READILY ACCESSIBLE AND SHARED IN AND THROUGH EXISTING SYSTEMS AND STUDIOS ALREADY IN PLACE AT THE 28 NORTH CLARK BUILDING.
