Multi-talented, international superstar David Broza
Flashpoint Academy students and faculty will have front row center seats at the school Jan. 17 for a million dollar performance of one of the world’s most acclaimed composer/singer and world-class guitarists.
International megastar David Broza will jet into Chicago between concerts in New York and Punta Del Este, Uruguay for a recording session, performance and Q&A at Flashpoint’s Loop facilities.
Broza is perhaps the biggest and best known of the three guest artists who have visited Flashpoint and shared insights with students and faculty in the past two months as part of its Professional Workshop.

Called a modern troubadour of urban folk-rock, Broza has recorded 19 albums, many of which became gold, platinum, and multi-platinum and his concerts at cities around the world are sell-outs.
Chicago’s Mike Salvatore follows in February with sound design for the newest “Halo 3” game, “which will give our audio and gaming students a nice-cross over experience,” said academic dean Paula Froehle.
The Workshop kicked off in November with ‘80s and ‘90s pop singer/musician and now record producer Michelle Shocked of L.A. talking about being a creative artist and the struggle to maintain creative integrity.
Cincinnati-based musician Rob Fetters was the December guest, utilizing the Academy’s state-of-the-art studio for a recording session of his new song engineered by audio students.
Broza is a friend of Flashpoint founder Howard Tullman (who knows everyone ) and accepted Tullman’s invitation to be a Guest Artist and record at the school.
After the Workshop, Broza will return to his tour and a huge concert in Seville, Spain the end of January.
The Israeli idol headlined a spectacular concert that aired in December on national PBS. Spearheaded by Ch. 11, the internationally-produced “David Broza at Masada” was three years in development and funded at a hefty $1.2 million.
With 41 new students registered for the spring session, Flashpoint achieved its goal of enrolling 150 students for its first year of operation.
The school, which opened in ultra-modern, custom-built Loop space last September, specializes in four disciplines: Filmmaking, Recording Arts, Game Development and Computer Animation.
A tour of the facilities takes place Saturday, Jan. 12.
