National, Local Tech
Giants Meet in San Antonio for Informational Discussion
San Antonio –SWEB Development
brought together local technology and business leaders to hear from Howard
Tullman, the CEO of 1871 in Chicago.
1871 was started in 2012 and has grown into the hub for Chicago’s
thriving technology and entrepreneurial system.
Sweb Development organized the event to drive a conversation with our
local tech leaders about the value of incubation and how to best structure such
an effort for success in San Antonio.
Magaly
Chocano, Founder and CEO of SWEB Development says “I’m glad Howard was able to
come down and share his experiences and insights into what has worked best for
them at 1871. Our thriving tech
community continues to grow and will play such an important role in shaping the
future of San Antonio.”
The
roundtable discussion was attended by well-respected San Antonio leaders,
including Judge Nelson Wolff, David Heard, Dirk Elmendorf, and more. The wide
ranging discussion focused on the power of incubators, best practices in the
tech start-up community, and how to best direct economic development in
technology.
Howard
Tullman says “It is impressive to see what San Antonio’s tech community has
been doing over the past several years to position itself for success as a
technology hub. I wanted to come down
and see for myself who the industry leaders and dreamers are so I can share
some of our successes and best practices at 1871. I feel we can be a great model for others to
learn from and follow.”
The
conversation continues and the tech community that attended the event can
further plan, strategize, and implement the actions needed to keep the
technology industry in San Antonio moving forward.
