DEVELOPMENT OF MEMBER PORTAL AND MOBILE APP FOR 1871 MEMBERS
Codal to offer web
development and business intelligence support to 1871 as it develops
state-of-the-art solution to fuel 1871 member opportunities and growth

(March 27, 2015)—1871 and
Codal today announced a new partnership agreement that will result in the
development of a state-of-the-art web portal and application that will allow
1871 members to enjoy unparalleled opportunities and unique access to
information and resources as they grow their businesses.

primary goal of 1871 is to foster the development of the innovative businesses
that work from our space and which are crucial drivers of Chicago’s economic growth,”
said 1871 CEO Howard A. Tullman. “Our partnership with Codal will allow us to do
that by helping us better organize our internal processes and communication
with our members and visitors. Our members will have, in one place, everything
they need to help them build successful, thriving businesses, and we are
thrilled to be able to provide this for our companies.”
Codal
is a global web development and design firm based in Chicago. They develop for
mobile platforms, enterprise, custom code reviews, consulting, and much more. Codal will create a web portal,
mobile application, customer relationship management system (CRM), and business
intelligence (BI) system for 1871 allowing for a more efficient communication
and interaction throughout the entire 1871 community.

The project is composed of six phases which will bring
together cross-functional teams including thirteen Codal employees and members
of the 1871 staff, as well as a cohort of 1871 member companies which will
provide guidance and design advice throughout the process. During this process
operational aspects of 1871 such as event communications, scheduling, billing,
and member relations are expected to be dramatically improved. These
improvements will have a positive fiscal, administrative, and outreach impact
for 1871. With this partnership, Codal will receive brand placement on 1871’s web and
mobile sites, media support, as well as sponsorship and membership
opportunities.
Among other things, once the project is done, 1871
members will be able to pay their membership fees, reserve conference rooms,
sign-up for events and workshops, and access courses through the web portal and
mobile application. The new web portal is expected to be active
this spring and the mobile application will be developed thereafter.
