TASTY TRADE - WHERE DO I START - ROLLOVERS WITH TOM AND HOWARD

In a special birthday edition of "Where Do I Start?: Top Dogs," Howard Tullman kicks things off by discussing Amazon's recent news and its impact on other stocks.
Howard questions whether or not the Amazon effect truly "negative" when the stocks are still at all-time highs.
With travel on both Howard and Tom's agendas, they use today's segment to roll Howard's positions and clean up the portfolio.
tastytrade's research has shown that 21 DTE (days to expiration) is the optimal point of adjustment/rolling into the next monthly expiration cycle. Therefore, Howard and Tom use the tastyworks downloadable platform to move his positions forward. While most of Howard's rolls are pretty simple, there are a few trades that are require a bit more thinking. Tune in to see which stocks raise flags for Tom and Howard!

Kaplan Institute Exec Director Howard Tullman Starts Trading on Tasty Trade

After a few weeks of preparation, Howard places his first few trades today. But before jumping in, Tom reiterates the main objective of Howard's trading account: to reduce cost basis.
This is done by creating covered positions. Tom explains that while this may limit the profit potential, we use these strategies for lower costs as well as a higher probability of making money on the trade (Probability of Profit).
After a quick runthough of Howard's watchlist and his directional assumptions, Tom explains how they will be executing these positions on the tastyworks platform.
Ultimately, Tom and Howard place 15 trades that are bullish, bearish or neutral in nature. Next week, they plan to focus on adjusting these positions as well as give Howard a better understanding of what to monitor now that he has some trades on!
