Chicago Entrepreneur Howard Tullman, Business Awards featured at Northbrook Chamber's Annual Meeting
Howard Tullman, voted by the Chicago Tribune as one of the top Chicago business people to watch in 2014 will be the featured speaker at the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Annual Meeting and Dinner on Monday, March 3rd at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel, . Tullman, one of Chicago’s most successful entrepreneurs,was recently named the CEO of 1871, the city’s most prominent incubator for digital startup businesses.
Tullman’s presentation will focus on his goals for 1871 and how social media is radically changing the way that every business needs to operate. Before taking over the helm of 1871 last November, Tullman successfully managed, turned around and sold several prominent businesses, including Kendall College, the Cobalt Group and the Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy. Over the last 45 years, he has successfully founded more than a dozen high-tech companies. Most recently he started his own venture capital firm G2T3V, which invests in local startups.
In addition, the Chamber will honor several businesses as part of its efforts to recognize excellence in the Northbrook business community. For promoting a spirit of giving and community involvement, UPS will be honored as Corporate Citizen of the Year. For demonstrating considerable growth and outstanding customer service and sales, Lewis Floor and Home will receive the Chamber’s Small Business of the Year award. Lise Schleicher, BasketWorks has been a consistent supporter of the organization, earning her the Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year award.
Presented by Whitehall of Deerfield, the event will begin with a reception at 5:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for the event are $75 for individuals and $560 for a table of eight.
