FLASHPOINT ACADEMY HOSTS “FINAL FANTASY” VIDEO GAME COMPOSER NOBUO UEMATSU AND MUSIC DIRECTOR ARNIE ROTH


Game and Animation students at Flashpoint Academy, Chicago’s premier digital media arts college, will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Nobuo Uematsu at the only private appearance which he will make during his visit to Chicago. Uematsu-san will be joined at Flashpoint by musical director/composer Arnie Roth of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra for an exclusive video/audio presentation with a Q&A session prior to Uematsu-san's sold-out concert at The Rosemont Theatre where new music from the “Distant Worlds: Music from FINAL FANTASY” will be played for the first time in Chicago.

Uematsu is in Chicago for his concert commemorating the 20th anniversary of the release of the first FINAL FANTASY® game to hit the market. The two-hour program produced by Uematsu and AWR Music Productions LLC, including new FINAL FANTASY music, will be conducted by Grammy Award-winning Arnie Roth, Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra. Nobuo Uematsu is one of the most celebrated composers in the video game field. He has achieved global recognition for his work on the FINAL FANTASY series that has been performed by world-class orchestras around the world. Uematsu has been recognized as a major contributor in the increasing appreciation and awareness of video game music. The music from the game series has grown to such notoriety that Nobuo Uematsu was named one of the “Innovators” in Time Magazine’s “Time 100: The Next Wave Music” feature.

Music Director Arnie Roth is a Grammy-winning artist known for his work with performers including Il Divo, Diana Ross, Jewel, The Irish Tenors, Charlotte Church, Peter Cetera and Dennis DeYoung.
