Tribeca Flashpoint Academy CEO Howard A. Tullman Wins
2011 Illinois Technology Association CityLIGHTS Award
Tullman Selected from Hundreds of Nominees for Coveted Industry Award
CHICAGO – May 13 – Howard A. Tullman has been honored with a 2011 Illinois Technology Association (ITA) CityLIGHTS award in the CityLIGHTS category. Howard was nominated for his support of the local technology community as a whole. He has started many local businesses (public and private), led the turn-arounds and recoveries of several companies, volunteered his time to various organizations over the years, served on a number of government boards and panels, personally taught hundreds of prospective entrepreneurs and continues to be a mentor to young people and an ambassador for the industry.
The 12th annual CityLIGHTS award winners were announced at the ITA’s awards gala May 12, 2011, at Union Station in Chicago, attended by more than 700 people from 400 organizations including business owners, investors, legislators and policymakers.
“We received an exceptional group of nominations this year, from individuals and organizations to products and technologies, all of which are accomplishing great things,” said Fred Hoch, ITA President. “The Illinois technology community is seeing a resurgence of startups, partnerships, collaboration and investments, and its many achievements are reflected in the caliber of our nominees and award winners.”
The ITA received a record number of nominations in 2011, an indication of the burgeoning local technology community. Winners in each of the eight award categories were determined by a composite score of 50 percent community voting and 50 percent from the ITA’s panel of 40 judges, with the exception of the CityLIGHTS award, which was determined solely by the ITA Board of Directors.
