1871 CEO HOWARD TULLMAN ON TASTY TRADE

1871's CEO, Howard Tullman, talks this month about the Blackstone Charitable Foundation's new Program. They are awarding 150K to 1871 and two of 1871's residents, Bunker Labs and Future Founders. The grants (totaling $1M spread out to 8 grantees) are intended to connect a diverse group of Chicago entrepreneurs, with a focus on women, veterans and people of color to help scale and grow their businesses. The grants are part of a plan that includes a $3+M commitment from Blackstone.
In conjunction with Howard's recent work, Kristi, Tony and Howard discuss streaming and video trends, particularly as it pertains to one of Howard's newer endeavors, 1871 Edge. The Edge program commits to making 1871's seminars, workshops and resources accessible to those elsewhere in the city who are interested in entrepreneurial paths. Tune in to find out what he has discovered about content creation and curation and why he believes video is STILL an art despite how much video content is uploaded daily across popular media platforms like Facebook, Snapchat and YouTube.
