Flashpoint Academy was the Evening Sponsor for the remarkable Batman - The Dark Knight premiere screening in Chicago at the IMAX Theatre on Navy Pier. Attended by almost 500 special guests and most of the stars from the movie, the evening was also a tribute to the director - Chris Nolan - who was awarded the 2008 Visionary Filmmaker Award - and who (along with all the other stars) was incredibly generous with his time in speaking to Flashpoint students and staff who were fortunate enough to be part of the film crews on the Red Carpet and inside the venues throughout the evening. The Flashpoint student film crews (standing right beside all the network TV teams at our own interview station) wore their new Flashpoint logo shirts and looked especially stylish as the sweat from the 90 plus degree temperature poured off of them. They were great sports and got some terrific interviews.
Flashpoint signage, confetti, ads, gift bags and banners were prominently displayed on the Red Carpet and all over the Crystal Garden where the Gala dinner was held after the film screening and this was a terrific opportunity for the management team to meet a very large and new group of film industry-connected employers and others and to introduce them to our new college. The evening was a great success and even afforded us the opportunity to interview and film Chicago film and TV personalities like Richard Roeper.
