190 North Celebrity Host Doug Banks films Segment on Experiencia to air December 16th

Doug Banks brings his special brand of hip to 190 North as one of the Emmy Award winning program's three correspondents. After a radio career that skyrocketed in Chicago, Doug still knows what makes Chi-town tick.

Doug began his broadcasting career on his high school's radio station in Detroit, Michigan. Local station WDRQ took notice of his talent and offered him a spot as temporary late-night weekend disc jockey. After high school, Banks was able to parlay his temporary gig into a permanent multi-year contract at KDAY in Los Angeles.

He then moved on to the LA station KFI, which helped pave the way to a morning show slot in Las Vegas at KLAV-AM. Doug's next two stops were KDIA-AM in San Francisco and WBMX (now WVAZ) in Chicago.

From 1986-94, Banks make his mark doing nights and later a morning show for WGCI. Next, the ABC Radio Network offered Banks the opportunity to do a nationally syndicated show and Banks' reputation as a radio icon took off. Currently, the "Doug Banks Morning Show" is one of the top-rated syndicated urban programs in America.

Doug's recent work includes hosting various editions of NASCAR NOW on ESPN2.

He is a Philadelphia native but grew up in Detroit.
