TRIBECA FLASHPOINT ACADEMY WELCOMES DIRECTOR ROSS NOVIE FOR "LUNCH AND LEARN" WORKSHOP
Ross Novie created, executive-produced and directed all six episodes of the series “Secret Girlfriend” for Comedy Central last year, based on his internet hit that ran for over one hundred online episodes. Mr. Novie has also recently sold comedy pitches to MTV and just this month, Fox.
As a First Assistant Director, he worked on some of the best television comedies incluing “The Office,” “Arrested Development,” “Entourage,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Monk,” and “Even Stevens.”
Mr. Novie has also written, directed and produced hours of content for the internet, including series for Sony’s “Crackle,” FremantleMedia’s “Atomic Wedgie”, Break.com and Turner’s “Superdeluxe” sites, as well as numerous commercials, film trailers, and industrials.
Mr. Novie spent a month in February, 2010 in Abuja, Nigeria teaching local filmmakers directing and producing for the New York Film Academy.
In 2008 he was nominated for a “Webby” award for a set of comedic voter registration PSA’s that starred Rosario Dawson and Wilmer Valderrama for the non-profit group, “Voto Latino.”
As a side venture, Mr. Novie created the film scheduling program now known as “Showbiz Scheduling” in 2003. He sold it to Media Services three years ago but continues to consult on the software’s development.
