FLASHPOINT ACADEMY WELCOMES WORLD-FAMOUS DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER KEN BURNS FOR PRIVATE Q & A SESSION WITH FILM STUDENTS

WORLD-FAMOUS DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER KEN BURNS HAD A SOLD-OUT LUNCH WITH 700 PEOPLE AT THE UNION LEAGUE CLUB AND AN EARLY EVENING RECEPTION WITH 1000 DONORS AT THE ART INSTITUTE TO TALK ABOUT HIS NEW FILM ON THE NATIONAL PARKS WHICH SCREENS LATER THIS MONTH ON WTTW/PBS.

BUT, MOST IMPORTANTLY, AT MY REQUEST (WITH A LOT OF BEGGING TOSSED IN), HE TOOK A BREAK IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS INTENSE NATIONWIDE PROMOTION TOUR TO STOP BY FLASHPOINT ACADEMY AND MEET PRIVATELY WITH A BUNCH OF OUR FILM STUDENTS, STAFF AND FACULTY - ALL BIG FANS. IT WAS A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY AND THE KIND OF MEETING THAT YEARS LATER WILL HAVE SOME OF OUR GRADUATES SAYING "THAT WAS THE DAY I DECIDED TO ...."
